If you’ve ever wanted your pasta to taste like a cheeseburger this is the recipe for you!! Another family favourite One Pot Pasta dish, don’t knock it till you try it.

Cheeseburger Pasta

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 L beef stock
  • 2 tbsp Man Rub
  • 1 heaped tbsp Italian Stallion
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 250g pasta spirals or small pasta shape

  • 150g Jalapeno cheese or any cheddar cheese

  • 1/3 cup pickles, finely chopped
  • olive oil

Directions

  1. Saute onion in a little olive oil,  in a large deep fry pan or pot (or stove top casserole dish), for 2 minutes to soften. Add beef mince and brown, breaking up with a wooden spoon.

  2. Add Man Rub, Italian Stallion and ketchup, stir through.

  3. Add mustard.

  4. Add pasta and beef stock plus 1 additional cup of water, bring to a boil then cover with a lid and reduce heat to a simmer for approximately 20 minutes or until pasta is cooked. Stir a few times to prevent sticking.

  5. Grate cheese, for a point of difference we used jalapeno cheese but any cheese will work.

  6. Remove from heat and stir through cheese and pickles vigorously to incorporate it into the sauce. Add a tablespoon or two of pickle juice from the jar if you wish. It adds a great flavour.

  7. Allow to sit covered for 3-4 minutes before serving.

  8. Serve with a little extra cheese and pickles.
