Get ready to whip up your own Fried Chicken Twister Fakeaway—a homemade take on the iconic KFC classic! Crispy, golden-fried chicken strips wrapped in a soft tortilla with fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a creamy peppery sauce. It’s the ultimate comfort fix, made right at home! Perfect for satisfying those fast-food cravings without the drive-through.
Ingredients
6 to 8 large chicken tenderloins, or breast cut into strips
Pop the tenderloins in a bowl, season with Blow My Coals, and mix well. Crack in the egg and coat the chicken thoroughly.
In another bowl, combine the crushed cornflakes and Fry Yay, adding a little extra Blow My Coals. Press the tenders firmly into the cornflake mixture to coat.
Place the coated tenders in your air fryer and spritz with oil. Air fry at 190°C for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway. You can also deep-fry or bake them, but the air fryer works a treat.
While the tenders cook, finely shred the iceberg lettuce. Add it to a bowl with the slaw and red onion, and dress with 1 tsp white vinegar. Season with Man Grind Salt Flakes.
Warm the wraps—ideally in a grill pan or skillet for a bit of char.
Spread 1 tbsp Señor Pepe Pepper Mayo on each wrap. Add the slaw, place a tender on top, and drizzle with a little more mayo.
Fold up the base, roll the sides tightly, and wrap in baking paper for that KFC vibe.
